Fix Florida - At one time, Florida was a waterman’s paradise, pristine estuaries and healthy fish populations. Recent events have put three of Florida’s estuaries in an environmental turmoil, but these events are not new, they are sparked from over a half century of development, agriculture and water mismanagement.
Wastewater: A Widespread Threat - This video shows the impacts of wastewater on human health, water bodies, and coastal ecosystems, and highlights how valuable wastewater can be when adequately managed.
Water Brothers: Acid Ocean - This film introduces the audience to the issue of ocean acidification, something that few people understand, but one that has far reaching and devastating effects.
Years of Living Dangerously - Saving Miami with Jack Black - If nothing is done to curb carbon emissions, Miami is in danger of being underwater by the end of the century. Jack Black is there to find out if and how the city and other low-lying coastal areas can survive rising seas. He finds a political and business community in denial and talks to a few lone legislators, residents, activists, and scientists trying to do something before it’s too late.
This session includes a
Q&A with filmmakers.
